Overview:
The goal of this project was to select an album, immerse myself in its sound and themes, and create a complete redesign based on personal interpretation. The challenge was to reimagine the visual identity without using any original imagery or typography, encouraging a deeper exploration of mood, tone, and narrative through design. I created new covers and inner medallions that express how the album feels rather than how it has been traditionally represented.
Process Summary:
I chose the album No Closer to Heaven by The Wonder Years as the foundation for this project. I listened closely to the music, taking note of recurring themes, imagery, and narratives that emerged throughout the album. By analyzing music I identified key motifs and moods that could be translated into a visual language. This process allowed me to connect the auditory experience with design decisions, informing the composition, color palette, typography, and overall aesthetic of the redesigned album.
